eeps?
Hey, just had a thought. I was pondering how to get material put
together faster (notoriously too busy to do anything myself) and
thought "Hey! What if I give a few people eeps to write some stuff
up for me?" Then I thought that could be adapted in a more generalized
environment. Setting coordinators could reward people (players) for
writing up stuff. Obviously you need to put in some parameters such
as it has to be good (coordinator's opinion) and actually usable
(obviously I have no use for a detailed writeup of Liston's finest
bar).
Dan is already giving GMs eeps for pre-approved adventure writeups
(I know at least one person has availed themselves of this a lot).
This is a minor step forward and might serve to get players even
more interested in the development of their setting. Since you can't
have a player in the know too much, player writeups would pretty
much be limited to surface items, but GMs could be rewarded in a like
fashion if they contribute to a setting.
I really don't think this would be abused because the writeup
concept isn't now. A quick lot of eeps for just giving Dan the
writeup that you had to do anyway? Come on. Its not happening
because GMs don't actually have writeups (too lazy, too busy,
etc...). The same will apply here. And you can be selective as
hell about what you accept as material. But I bet you get at
least a little bit of good stuff.
