Elves are perfectly free to worship a god. Gods know the elves are
there along with everything else there just isn't much they can do for 'em.
The powers that gods give to their followers need to have the soul to reside
in. No soul no godly given power.
In regards to the DI talk. If a priest makes a DI we can base the
save on the priest's faithfullness but what about casual worshippers like
warriors and augers? I believe Wright cited that a devote priest should
get better assistance than the schmuck who signed on for donuts. What about
the people who worship for free? No donuts no spells yet they get DI which
is good but how can you base their piety to a god?
Elves I believe should get a slightly better chance of a good DI than
the other races since the gods should look upon them as a bit more selfless
in their intentions then their priests and other followers since there is no
afterlife for them as a "reward" for all their years of devotion.
Now the place where this breaks down is that in AQ the gods ( with the
exception of Rudri and Scrogg ) don't get their power from their worshippers
but rather from the Superi ( which I really have never been fond of ). If the
godship gives the gods power what need they of worshippers? If the godship
somehow amplifies some form of energy given from worship I don't mind it as
much. Just my opinion.
Overall though becoming a Nomad is a pretty easy thing for Elves since
the meet the membership requirement of having spirits.

Elemental magic comes from ta-daa the elements ( that was easy ). Divine magic is
kindof different. My hypothesis is that the Superi gives the energy of the sun
( and whatever else is just floating through space ) and lets the Gods use it
more efficiently but this efficiency requires a soul. So the energy is the same
but delivery is different and the results are "twisted" so the revokes are
specific. This also explains how one might blow an overload of Fluency and end
up with Fish Call.
